Instant Brain Dump — capture any thought without leaving the page
A Chrome extension I built to capture anything online — pages, links, or a quick thought — in one click, with smart reminders, tags, and 100% local storage. No login, no cloud.
Instant Brain Dump is a Chrome extension I built to save anything you find online — a page, a link, or a passing thought — in one click, without switching apps, creating an account, or leaving the browser. It captures the URL, title, favicon, and timestamp automatically; you add an optional note, tags, or a reminder, and move on.
What it does
- One-click (or Alt+S) page save — URL, title, favicon, and time captured automatically.
- Brain Dump mode (Alt+B) for text-only notes — jot an idea or to-do with no URL needed.
- Smart reminders — 1, 3, 7, 30 days or a custom date; Chrome notifies you and opens the saved page.
- Instant search across title, URL, and notes, plus colour-coded tags you can filter by.
- Right-click → “Save to Brain Dump,” and duplicate detection to keep the list clean.
- 100% local: stored via chrome.storage.local, no login, works offline, with JSON export/import backup.
Why I built it
Emailing yourself a link to remember it, bookmarking things you never find again, hoarding 30 tabs “for later” — it’s all friction around a simple need: get it out of your head and find it later. Brain Dump does that instantly and privately, with nothing sent to a server.
